Motor transportation from China
It is still difficult to transport cargo by road from China to Russia. Chinese party lets our carriers’ transport no further than frontier zones (Manchuria and Urumqi). China has not joined TIR Convention (1975) yet. It means that transportation under integrated transportation document (TIR book) is not possible, although the book simplifies procedures of customs and other formalities in the boundaries greatly. That’s why there are always two carriers during motor transportation. One delivers cargo on Chinese territory over the border, other – in Kazakhstan and Russia. In this regard it’s important to work out a time schedule for cars and minimize down time.
